KCR waiting for MIM to approve Goshamahal BRS candidate: Raja Singh

HYDERABAD: Goshamahal MLA T. Raja Singh who had won from the seat on a BJP ticket in the 2018 elections, on Monday said, “The BRS is waiting for the AIMIM to pick the ruling party candidate from Goshamahal and that is the reason why Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao did not announce the BRS candidate from the constituency.”

While announcing the BRS candidates’ first list, Chandrashekar Rao left out Goshamahal, along with three more constituencies saying the names for these would be announced later.

Raja Singh said that he is confident that he will once again contest on the BJP ticket from Goshamahal and called on party cadre to gear up for the poll battle ahead. If he contests and wins, it will be a third straight win for Raja Singh from Goshamahal. It may be recalled that Raja Singh was suspended from the BJP in August last year and there are increasing calls from his supporters in the party that his suspension be lifted.

Raja Singh told Deccan Chronicle that “Chandrashekar Rao followed the same strategy in the 2018 elections too and waited for the AIMIM to nominate a BRS candidate. It is likely that the MIM will recommend the name of Prem Singh Rathore or Nand Kishore Vyas to contest on the BRS ticket, and once the MIM clears the name, the BRS will name its candidate”.
