MK Stalin: Edappadi K.Palaniswami govt has lost majority, will fall soon
Chennai: Declaring that the Edappadi K. Palaniswami government had lost its majority, leader of Opposition M.K. Stalin on Monday said 'the anti-people government' would be brought down soon.
The AIADMK (Amma) government had lost its majority due to the actions taken to sideline its general secretary V.K. Sasikala and her family, he said. "Since the government has betrayed its own partymen, time is ripe to fulfill the expectations of Tamil Nadu in a democratic manner soon", he asserted in a statement here.
The fall of the government would bring out the 'truth buried in the grave' and the plunder of the state exchequer, he said.
The merger drama was scripted and directed by the BJP government at the centre, he alleged.
Under the pretext of 'dharma yuddham, both the factions had merged based on bargain for power and money, he charged.
The last hour discussions and the involvement of people close to the BJP had revealed that the saffron party was behind the merger move, besides proving that both the factions are dancing to the strings from Delhi. The BJP had realised that it could not get people's support in Tamil Nadu, the land of E.V.R. Periyar directly and it is trying to make a backdoor entry using a fake Dravidian movement.
The leaders of the two factions were unable to raise their voice against the BJP which was acting against the state's interest in Cauvery dispute and Neet, Stalin said.
In another statement, Stalin urged the centre to raise the income ceiling to identify the beneficiaries in OBC communities to '15 lakhs per year.
He said the National Commission for Backward Classes had given its recommendation to raise the income celiling and appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to accept the recommendations.
