Amit Shah skips Tamil Nadu trip
Chennai: BJP national chief Amit Shah postponed his tour of Tamil Nadu ahead of his scheduled visit on Tuesday and virtually left the party leaders and cadres dazed. He was asked to stay back in Delhi for a meeting of the Chief Ministers and Deputy CMs of the BJP ruled states at the national capital on Monday. This is the second time he has deferred his visit to TN in less than four months.
In May last, Mr. Shah's much awaited visit to expand his party's presence in TN ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha election, was put-off as it coincided with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Sri Lanka. Later, the dates were reworked and it was announced that he would intensely tour Chennai on Aug. 22 and 23, interact with party leaders, cadres and fishermen representatives of the BJP besides have lunch with the party's fishermen at Nadukuppam here.
