YSRC to raise Andhra Pradesh issues in Parliament
KAKINADA: YSRC Chief Whip in Lok Sabha and Rajamahendravaram MP Margani Bharat has said the party’s MPs would raise their voice in Parliament to get more funds for Andhra Pradesh and highlight other issues of the state.
He said that the YSRC was maintaining friendly relations with the NDA with a view to serving the interests of the people of AP and get funds and other support to the state from the central government.
The chief minister and the party MPs often exerted pressure on the central government and got Rs 10,000 crore of arrears and Rs 12,000 crore for the Polavaram project released. However, the central government is neglecting AP, overall.
“Since the BJP is having sufficient strength at the Centre, it has not considered the other parties’ and their governments’ role in national development. This must change,” he said.
He said the YSRC would discuss the issue of BC Reservations, press for special release of funds for the seven backward districts in AP, women reservation, revised cost estimations for Polavaram, special category status, special funds for the state as per the AP bifurcation Act provisions, during the discussions in the current parliament session.
