Upcoming assembly polls crucial for Pawan Kalyan

VIJAYAWADA: Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan is targeting the YSRC government on almost a daily basis over social media platform Twitter by raising a series of queries on several issues and seeking the ruling party’s response.

On Saturday, he tweeted saying, “No mega DSC notification, no teacher recruitment, no teacher training. But a loss making start-up gets crores of rupees of contract. Has the YSRC government followed standard protocol? How many companies applied for the tender, who were shortlisted? Is it in the public domain? YSRC government respond!”

The Jan Sena chief is trying to find fault with the state government for failing to issue a notification for recruitment of teachers in government schools despite it being a poll promise. He is also referring to providing tabs to students with a private online education institute’s content, asking the state government whether it called for bids to select the start-up to give its academic content to students, as the deal involves crores of rupees.

He also raised the issue of involving village / ward volunteers, along with YSRC booth-level workers, in enrolment of voters in the run up to elections in the state.

In a tweet, Pawan Kalyan said, “The truest sense of upholding democracy is to ensure fairness and transparency in the entire election process, starting from preparation of voter list to declaration of result. Despite Election Commission’s clear instructions, several volunteers across AP are part of the door-to-door survey process, along with YSRC booth-level officers. This is a violation of Indian Constitution and blatant abuse of power by the YSRC government. Jana Sena demands that Election Commission of India investigate this and take strict action.”

The JS president tagged this tweet to ECI and also to chief electoral officer of AP.

He also tweeted about breach of citizens’ data in AP by village / ward volunteers, which had kicked up a stir in the state after he first mentioned it during his public meeting held at Eluru from atop his Varahi. He claimed that personal details of citizens are being misused by a section of volunteers, leading to compromising the safety of some women.

Political analysts say the Jana Sena chief appears to be trying to expose the YSRC government almost on a regular basis. His aim is to draw the attention of people and also opposition parties like Telugu Desam and BJP towards forging a political alliance against YSRC.

Pawan Kalyan has underlined that the claim for CM’s position in the post 2024 election scenario be based on number of seats won in the assembly by members of the alliance against the ruling YSRC. The upcoming polls are very crucial for him for winning the maximum number of seats, as it has been 10 years since the inception of his Jana Sena. The time is now, as it will become difficult to press on furthermore.
