BCs and SCs of Tamil Nadu are being pushed to protest: MK Stalin

Are not the BCs and SCs Hindus, Stalin asked the BJP government, pointing to the party’s claim of striving for the welfare of the Hindus

DMK President M K Stalin gave a call for a democratic war to retrieve the social justice, which the BJP government has been depriving the marginalized people of, though it is enshrined in the Constitution and affirmed through various Supreme Court verdicts and legislation passed in Parliament.

Ever since the BJP came to power, it had been doing only two things, Stalin said in a statement on Tuesday. One was giving shaping to its religious fundamentalism through various acts, some of them misusing the brute majority it enjoyed in Parliament and the second one was demolishing social justice, he said.

Through NEET it sounded the death knell to the medical education aspirations of SCs, MBCs, BCs and poor people, he said, adding that the Centre had been depriving the BCs and SCs of their due share of seats by cutting down the percentage of reservation.

Are not the BCs and SCs Hindus, Stalin asked the BJP government, pointing to the ruling party’s claim of striving for the welfare of the Hindus.

He said the BCs and SCs of Tamil Nadu were being pushed to protest like the one that was organized in 1950 by the DK and DMK, which ultimately led to the Centre passing the First Amendment, to regain social justice.

The future course of action would be decided by the DMK in consultation with its alliance partners, friendly parties, organizations subscribing to the idea of social justice and activists, he said and gave a clarion call for a democratic war.
