Hyderabad: Former irrigation minister and MLA T. Harish Rao said that it was through the effort, commitment and hard work of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao that a gigantic project like Kaleshwaram had turned into realty.
While participating in celebrations at Siddipet, Mr Harish Rao expressed happiness at the inauguration of the project in which he was also part as irrigation minister earlier. He said, “We were not able to construct a single project in the combined state.“ He said that if the Congress was in power, Kaleshwaram would not have been completed even in 30 years.
Mr Harish Rao congratulated the engineers, employees and workers who had worked round the year and in difficult weather conditions. He said the project was a big step towards realization of the dream that was the core of the Telangana movement.
He felt that water from the project will be supplied to lands at the time of Dasara.
