Sujana Chowdary upsets BJP leaders with entry

These state leaders are not against other TD leaders joining the party

Vijayawada: Not everyone in the AP BJP leadership is happy with the party’s central leadership inducting TD Rajya Sabha members Y.S. Chowdary and C.M. Ramesh, though they will have to abide by the central leadership’s decision.

This section of the state leaders points out that one Rajya Sabha member faces charges of serious economic offences and is being probed by central agencies like the the Central Bureau of Investigation and the Enforcement Directorate and another faces allegations of widespread fund misappropriations, which may dent the party’s image.

These state leaders are not against other TD leaders joining the party. Their objection is only with regard to Mr Chow-dary and Mr Ramesh.

They feel that the two MPs are “rank opportunists” as they were confidants of TD president N. Chandrababu Naidu whom they were dumping when the party is facing a crisis. The BJP leaders said that the duo had crossed over only to save their skin.

“Though we are not enthusiastic about Chowdary and Ramesh joining us we don’t have a choice as we have to abide by the central leadership’s decision and cooperate with those who joined us,” said a BJP leader.
