BENGALURU: Bharatiya Janata Party general secretary and MP Shobha Karandlaje on Thursday joined issue with water resources minister D K Shivakumar over his threat to make public diaries of leaders of her party. While maintaining that the law would take its own course against the guilty, she told the media here: “Mr. Shivakumar is free to release the diaries. No one has prevented the Congress-Janata Dal (Secular) government from conducting an inquiry into the matter. Mr. Shivakumar can prevail upon his government to conduct an inquiry into these alleged diaries of Bharatiya Janata Party leaders.”
She charged that the Congress had instructed officers of Income Tax department to carryout raids during the last five decades but was now crying foul and alleging that raids on Mr Shivakumar and others were politically motivated. As former law and justice minister, it is not correct on my part to react when the case is pending before the courtm” he added.
