BRS opens state office in Guntur, vows to work for AP's welfare and development

VIJAYAWADA: The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) headed by Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao launched its state-level office in Guntur on Sunday with a promise to promote the welfare and development of Andhra Pradesh.

State BRS president Thota Chandrasekhar and several BRS leaders were present at the event. The party flag was unveiled and a puja was performed at the party office.

Chandrasekhar said that both the ruling YSR Congress and Opposition Telugu Desam failed to pressurise the BJP-led Union Government to fulfil the assurances the Centre had made to AP during the time of bifurcation.

He alleged that the governments of the YSRC and TD failed in the construction of Polavaram as also the capital of Amaravati. The situation in AP has become miserable due to zero development and huge debts, he averred.

The BRS leader alleged that the state government did not help the farmers in times of calamities and seasonal adversities. Although there are 31 MPs for the YSRC, they failed to get the Special Category Status for the state and could not stop the privatization of the Visakha steel plant.

“CM Jagan fears PM Modi due to his cases and Chandrababu is trying to build bridges with Modi. By contrast, Telangana CM KCR is courageously facing Modi. KCR will not only lead Telangana, AP and Maharashtra but the entire country,” he claimed.

Chandrasekhar said the Rythu Bhima and Rythu Bandhu schemes introduced for farmers in Telangana have won the support of farmers everywhere. He claimed that the people of AP wanted the development of the state as per the Telangana model under KCR.

“KCR and KTR are working hard to make Hyderabad an international city, but not a single city is being developed in AP,” he said.
