Ramesh Chennithala calls it the worst government
Thiruvananthapuram: Opposition Leader Ramesh Chennithala on Sunday lashed out at Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, who is celebrating his first year in office, with a 65-point charge-sheet. He described Vijayan government as the worst the state had ever had.
Mr Chennithala alleged that Mr Vijayan was trying to appropriate achievements of the previous UDF government like the Kannur International Airport, Kochi Metro and the Vizhinjam port.
He said there was nothing for the LDF government to boast of during a year of 'misrule'.
"Pinarayi government would be etched in history as the last CPM government in the country. Within a year in office, they have proven that they are running the worst ever government of the state. Pinarayi administration was dogged down by controversies one after another,” he said.
On Thursday, when Mr Vijayan inaugurates the celebrations officially, the Congress-led opposition will protest in all the 140 Assembly constituencies highlighting the misgovernance.
He recalled that when the Left Government had come to power, the expectations were so high that they had promised that everything would be set right.
He countered Mr Vijayan's claims of cleansing the system of corruption citing how industries minister E. P. Jayarajan had to quit over charges of nepotism and the resignation of transport minister A. K. Saseendran after being caught in a 'honeytrap'.
“The list of achievements that he projected after a year in office are of Kochi Metro, Vizhinjam Port and Kannur Airport, which are all, in fact, our's," he said.
He also rubbished the claim of Mr Vijayan over the state being adjudged the best in law and order, which again goes to the UDF Government’s credit.
