Congress, JD(S) couldn't digest my breakfast at Dalit's house, says BS Yeddyurappa
Bengaluru: Irked by the comments made by Congress and JD(S) leaders that he had food made at a hotel for breakfast during his visit to a Dalit’s house in Tumakuru on Friday, BJP state president and former chief minister B.S. Yeddyurpapa hit back at his detractors saying they could not ‘digest’ the event.
“They claim I got the breakfast from a hotel. Since they could not do what I did, they are trying to criticise me. This is an insult of Dalits by the Congress and JD(S). The family members, whose house I visited, are now cursing the leaders of these parties,” Yeddyurappa said.
He was addressing a meeting of BJP frontal organisations and office bearers at the party office on Sunday and said that he would be completing his ‘Janasampark Abhiyan’ by June 28.
Criticising Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Yeddyurappa said that it was because of pressure exerted by the Bharatiya Janata Party that Maharashtra agreed to release water twice from Koyna dam into Krishna river in the state. “However, Siddaramaiah claims there is no drought. He should leave his chopper and inspect the situation on the ground. His attitude is disgusting,” the former Chief Minister said.
Expressing his doubts over the cause of death of IAS officer Anurag Tewari in Lucknow, Yeddyurappa demanded that the investigation into the case should be handed over to the CBI.
