Voting for Congress means stopping double-engine government: Nadda

Bidar: BJP national president JP Nadda said that supporting the Congress in Karnataka would not only mean stopping the double-engine government, but also putting it in reverse gear.

He was speaking at a programme organized in Bidar today.

“ Whenever the Congress or JDS or their coalition government came to power, they stopped the schemes of the central government. That is why the double-engine government is important..

Yashaswini Health Scheme was withdrawn when the Congress came to power. Now, it has been resumed. The work of Shivamogga airport started in 2008 but was stakked during the Congress and JD(S) governments. After Yediyurappa became the CM, the works were started again and in the last three years, there has been considerable progress. Recently, the airport was inaugurated by Prime Minister Modiji,” he said.

He claimed that the BJP was a synonym for development. Nadda gave examples of other states ruled by other parties where the central government schemes were stopped. He also blamed the Congress for dividing the society.

“Sometimes they created a divide between the North and South and at other times, in the name of language and religion. They divided the society and ended up losing power. In Tamil Nadu, they are out, and in Kerala, they have been out of the government for eight years. They are also nowhere in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. They believe in dividing people and the BJP believes in Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas,” he said.

“Sabka Saath Sabka Vikaas is not just a slogan but the soul of India which was fulfilled by Modiji,” he added.

Nadda spoke about the various projects started by the BJP government in Karnataka.

On corruption, Nadda reminded about the the Malaprabha scan and Arkavati land scam denotification occurred during the Congress regime. There were scams in the police and teachers’ recruitment. Congress means corruption,” he said.

"Congress means criminalization. They supported those involved in the Hubli violence and DK Shivakumar spoke in support of the person involved in the cooker blast. Siddaramaiah government withdrew the cases against PFI,” he added.
