Hyderabad: While appreciating TPCC’s fight against irregularities in the TRS government’s sand mining policy, AICC President Rahul Gandhi commented: “I understand that the Telangana PCC has the view that the sand mining policy was designed to work in favour of few contractors.”
Punjab Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu in his recent visit to Telangana has appreciated Telangana government’s sand mining policy while TPCC is fighting against this issue. TPCC President N. Uttam Kumar Reddy has written to AICC President Rahul Gandhi on this. In a reply to Uttam Kumar Reddy, AICC President Rahul Gandhi said that he has received the TPCC President’s letter regarding a statement made by a member of Congress party appreciating Telangana government’s sand mining policy during his recent visit to Telangana. Rahul Gandhi also thanked him for bringing it to his notice.
Rahul Gandhi said “I deeply appreciate the Congress party in Telangana for launching an agitation to secure justice to the victims of the handedness of the sand mining contractors and the police.” Rahul Gandhi continued further that he would make it clear that the statement does not reflect Congress party’s position on the issue.
He advised continuing fighting against the anti-people policies of the TRS government. Rahul Gandhi also wished continued success in the Praja Chaitanya Yatra.
