Thiruvananthapuram: The LDF will write off Opposition Leader V. S. Achuthanandan if it comes to power, according to KPCC president V. M. Sudheeran. The statement of CPM politburo member Pinarayi Vijayan that the resolution against Achuthanandan for his anti-party stand still stood was a proof for the LDF agenda, Mr Sudheeran told reporters here. He alleged that Mr Pinarayi was trying to wash of his hands by blaming the media when his statement turned a controversy.
“The CPM cannot accommodate even its own senior leader like Achuthanandan. Pinarayi cannot escape the blame,” said Mr Sudheeran. He added that the BJP and the LDF were equally intolerant. “There is not much difference between the BJP and the CPM and they are like two sides of the same coin,” he said.
Referring to the liquor policy, Mr Sudheeran said the UDF would implement it flawlessly. A decision was taken to make some alterations following hitches.
Mr Sudheeran clarified that there was nothing wrong in using Chief Minister Oommen Chandy’s picture in the UDF manifesto. He was replying to a question whether Mr Oomen Chandy was being projected as the next chief minister.
