Downfall of Chandrababu Naidu and end of TD near-complete, says Talasila

The YSRC leader said Naidu's downfall had begun in the 2019 polls and his party's fate is now sealed with the panchayat polls

VIJAYAWADA: YSR Congress general secretary Talasila Raghuram has said the fourth phase panchayat polls ended on a high note, sealing the fate of Telugu Desam and the political future of its president Nara Chandrababu Naidu.

The YSRC leader said Naidu’s downfall had begun in the 2019 polls and “his party’s fate is now sealed” with the Panchayat polls, pushing the TD cadres and leaders to stare at an uncertain future. In all the four phases, voters solidly backed the governance style of Jagan Mohan Reddy ever since he took up the reigns of Andhra Pradesh in 2019.

Raghuram said the voters in the panchayat polls gave a befitting reply to the “false propaganda” unleashed by the TD that the YSRC had won the last assembly polls due to manipulation of EVMs. “Once again, the panchayats polls have proven that the people stood with Jagan irrespective of whether polls were held via EVMs or ballots.”

He said the TD would have been reduced to just two seats if the assembly polls in 2019 were held on the ballot system.

Raghuram said the victory of the YSRC in the Panchayat polls sounded the death knell to TD in Andhra Pradesh. “All the conspiracy theories that were floated by Naidu during the panchayats polls with the sole the intention to demoralise YSRC cadres failed to click as the people made it clear they are all for the welfare schemes – the Nava Ratnalu implemented by Jagan Mohan Reddy,” he claimed.

He added: “The YSRC leader said that Naidu went overboard this time to defeat the YSRC. In his entire political career, Naidu had never addressed so many media conferences as he did this time --15 times, with the sole intent to misguide the people. Ultimately, democracy won. The voters gave a judicious verdict and the YSRC has triumphed over TD’s evil designs.”

Raghuram said the Panchayat polls have proven again that the people from Chittoor to Srikakulam stood with the YSRC. “From now on, there is only one flag that flies high; that is of YSRC. There will be only one agenda in Andhra Pradesh; that’s Jagan’s welfare agenda.”
