HYDERABAD: Panchayat raj minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao on Thursday cautioned the staff and officers of the department of stringent action against dereliction of duty.
Addressing the officers and staff of the panchayat raj and rural water supply department in an informal meeting in the office of the commissioner of rural development at Lower Tank Bund, he said that the staff and officers indul-ging in misappropriation of funds and dereliction of duty would be dealt with seriously.
While thanking the Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao for taking him in his Cabinet, Mr Rao said the CM had instructed him to always be on the field and he would make field visits after the Lok Sabha elections.
He said that the gram oanchayats would directly get funds from the Centre apart from the state grants and asked officers and staff to be cautious while appropriating the funds.
He said that he would work with the support of the village sarpanches to strengthen the local bodies.
