BJP cadre for new faces for 6 LS seats?

In his opening remarks, Mr Shah spoke about the achievements of the Modi government in the last 5 years.

Bengaluru: BJP president Amit Shah who landed in Bengaluru on Thursday to oversee the preparedness of the party state unit for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections, reportedly elicited the opinion of party legislators on the selection of party candidates for the elections while making an attempt to boost the morale of the party cadre.

Sources in the party said that a few legislators gave a feedback on the need for changing the Lok Sabha candidates for constituencies like Mysuru, Bagalkote, Mangaluru, Udupi-Chikmagaluru, Belagavi and Bagalkote. However Mr Shah did not disclose what the final decision would be with respect to the selection of candidates.

In his opening remarks, Mr Shah spoke about the achievements of the Modi government in the last 5 years. Sources said the BJP and NDA had a clear advantage over their rivals on four counts; the last Union budget has sent positive signals to all sections of society that the Modi government was for them while the 10% quota for the economically weaker sections among forward castes has also helped build goodwill among these sections.

Three, the party stand on securing the undisputed land in the Ram Janmabhoomi issue, has sent out a major message to voters and people at large that the BJP is all for building the temple.

According to Mr Shah, the 2014 verdict was against the Congress led UPA while the 2019 election would provide a positive mandate to the Narendra Modi government. "This time people want Mr Modi to come back and continue the unfinished agenda and therefore this will be a positive mandate for the Modi government. Legislators from Karnataka should forget what happened in the last Assembly elections. Getting 104 seats was not a small achievement, and if you work hard you can get more seats in the Lok Sabha elections which will help build the party better,” Mr Shah said.
