TDP must win all seats: Andhra Pradesh CM N Chandrababu Naidu
Vijayawada: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday said the AP government would try till the last minute to sort out outstanding issues with the Centre, but would not compromise on development.
Mr Naidu said that if he also started complaining like the others, the public would react to it and this would lead to unnecessary problems.
Earlier, Mr Naidu said the TD had to win all 175 constituencies in the state and if not party leaders would need to accept lapses in their work. He suggested that TD leaders plan accordingly for the elections. CM said nobody would defeat the TD.
Mr Naidu warned party leaders from Chittoor, Anantapur and Srikakulam to focus on making their districts open-defecation free. “I will come and protest in your constituencies,” Mr Naidu said.
Mr Naidu discussed the progress of Intintiki Telugu Desam, Janmabhoomi, the Polavaram project and the party’s performance constituency wise. Also on the table were the Centre’s commitments under the reorganisation Act, coordination between the state government and the Centre, and the Opposition’s political play using caste and region feelings.
Mr Naidu said the Polavaram project initiatives were misunderstood by a senior officer at the Centre, leading to confusion. The Centre had realised this later, and was moving quickly on the project. Work would be completed at the earliest, he said.
Mr Naidu said that the Navayuga Group had come forward to complete work on the spillway and spill channel at the old rates. He said the company would open an escrow account (deposit of fund held as security) in two days and would complete the work at a faster pace.
