Ghulam Nabi Azad flays CPM, BJP for political murders in Kerala

Speaking on the triple talaq, he flayed the Union government for drafting a Bill which could dismantle the Muslim family structure.

KOZHIKODE; The Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad has blamed both BJP and CPM for recurring political murders in the state. "Political killings are like Newton's third law," the senior Congress party leader told reporters here on Sunday. "It should boomerang, and the chain of revenge will continue. BJP adopts the same kind of violence across the country which the CPM practises in Kerala."

Referring to the comment of Governor P. Sathasivam that he was disturbed by the killing of RSS worker Shyama Prasad in Kannur, Mr Azad said that Governor could not advise a single party for the political violence. He said opposing political enemy physically is not the way of either Congress or UDF. Speaking on the triple talaq, he flayed the Union government for drafting a Bill which could dismantle the Muslim family structure. "The Supreme Court verdict against triple talaq is welcome. But divorce case in any religion is not treated under criminal law but as a civil suit. But the new law under the guise of banning triple talaq is stupidity," he flayed.
