Vijayawada: YSR Congress leaders are all set to conduct mega blood donation camps across the state to celebrate Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s 50th birthday on Wednesday. Ruling party cadres and leaders are expected to donate nearly 40,000 units of blood.
Other programmes being taken up include tree plantations, feeding the poor and free distribution of clothes besides blood donation drives. Ruling party MLAs are making arrangements in their constituencies for celebrating the birthday as part of the programme “Nenu Saitham Jagananna Batalo (I am Walking on Jagan's Path).”
Earlier this week, the YSRC social media wing collaborated with Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) to launch an online pledge to donate blood on the occasion. In the last 72 hours, more than one lakh individuals have donated blood and received a certificate from IRCS.
Meanwhile, YSRC supporters and beneficiaries of various schemes have been flooding social media with their pictures and videos wishing “people's leader” Jagan on the occasion of his birthday. In fact, hashtag #HBDYSJAGAN is currently among top three news trends in India on Twitter.
YSRC state general secretary and MLC Lella Appi Reddy said the birthday of the CM will be formally celebrated at the YSRC central office in Tadepalli on Wednesday. Leaders and cadres will be joining in large numbers. Further, the celebrations will be held at every key place within the state amid philanthropic activities and blood donation camps.
YSRC MLA Malladi Vishnu with party leaders and cadres planted saplings in VAMBAY Colony of Vijayawada on Tuesday. Vishnu said the CM has resolved every issue of farmers, students, women, youth and other classes of the society in the past three and half years and successfully fulfilled 98 percent of his poll promises.
