President office seeks clarification on new HC for AP
Hyderabad: The much-awaited notification for a separate high courts for Andhra Pradesh and Telangana state may be delayed by a few more days, as the law ministry has to reply to a query from the President's office on some issues raised in the draft notification.
According to sources, the President’s office, after reviewing the provisions of the AP Reorganisation Act and the Supreme Court judgement on a separate High Court, sought some clarifications and the law ministry has approached the Chief Justice of India for an interpretation on the issue raised by the President's office.
As the entire process may take some time to get approval from the President, the Gazette may be delayed for a few days.
Meanwhile, the Telangana state government on Thursday sanctioned establishment of a new court in the newly formed district of Peddapalli. The state has also sanctioned special courts in the cadre of Sessions Judge for the trial and disposal child abuse and sexual exploitation cases under POCSO Act -one court at Hyderabad and another at L.B.Nagar .
