Hyderabad: Congress MLC Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy on Thursday met chief secretary S.K. Joshi and requested him to help the farmers of the erstwhile Khammam district those crops were damaged by cyclone Phethai. He said that around 12,000 farmers were affected in Khammam district alone.
Mr Ponguleti also submitted a memorandum to the chief secretary requesting him to issue necessary orders to the officials concerned to estimate the crop damage, establish more procurement centres and provide the best support price to the damaged, besides issuing instructions to the banks to extend fresh crop loans.
