Opposition demands action against RTC MD, meets Gov

Kodandaram says will apprise the President, union ministers on the issue.

Hyderabad: An all-opposition party delegation on Wednesday met the Governor, Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan, at Raj Bhavan and appealed to her to take action against RTC in-charge MD Sunil Sharma for submitting an affidavit accusing the opposition parties of conspiring to topple the ruling TRS government.

The delegation comprising leaders from the Congress, BJP, CPI, Telangana TDP, Telangana Jana Samithi requested the government to intervene in the RTC strike and ensure that the state government to solve the demands of the RTC workers.

After the meeting, Telangana Jana Samithi President, Prof Kodandaram, speaking to the media, criticised the government for not taking steps to resolve the strike despite the High Court’s ordering to hold talks with the RTC workers.

He said that if necessary, they will go to Delhi and meet the President and union ministers to appraise RTC workers issue.

TDP Telangana president, L. Ramana, alleged that Sunil Sharma is acting as an agent of the TRS party and has appealed to the Governor to remove him from the transport department and initiate disciplinary action against him for making false charges against the opposition parties before the court.

Congress senior leader, J. Geetha Reddy, said that CM Rao is acting like a dictator and she demanded that the state government allow employees to re-join duty in view of the decision of the RTC JAC to call off the strike.
