Congress finalises seat sharing with CPI, CPM

Adilabad: Following its alliance with left parties during the forthcoming assembly elections in Telangana, Congress is likely to allocate Chennur and Kothagudem seats to CPI while Miryalaguda and Wyra will go to CPM.

News is that CPI state secretary Koonamneni Sambashiva Rao will contest from Kothagudem while CPI leader Regunta Chandrasekhar is to fight the election from Chennur. CPM leaders Julakanti Rangareddy and Bhukya Veerabhadram are contesting from Miryalaguda and Wyra respectively.

However, Congress leaders of Chennur assembly constituency are opposing their party’s move to allocate Chennur seat to CPI. There are several aspirants for the Congress ticket from the Chennur constituency.

Against this background, an audio has gone viral on social media, wherein Congress Jaipur mandal president Fayaz can be heard talking to CPI national leader K. Narayana.

Fayaz has questioned Narayana why CPI is contesting from Chennur, a seat that they cannot win. The Congress leader goes on to suggest that CPI should select a seat, which its candidate can win in alliance with the Congress party.

Narayana can be heard telling the Congress leader that if they have any grievances, they should approach their party and not the CPI.
