TDP MP Rayapati says seeking Rs 5,000 crore deals in Telangana
Hyderabad: Senior TD MP Rayapati Sambasiva Rao on Friday said there was nothing wrong if TD leaders were getting work contracts from the Telangana state government.
To press his point, he said TS Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao was his good friend, and he would meet him to seek his help to get at least Rs 5,000 crore worth contracts in Telangana state.
He was speaking in the backdrop of TS TD leader A. Revanth Reddy criticising his party’s AP colleagues for seeking contracts from the TS government. He had specifically named AP finance minister Yanamala Ramakrish-nudu and TD leader Payyavula Kesav.
Speaking to mediapersons, Mr Sambasiva Rao said he had incurred huge losses in the Polavaram project contract due to cost increases. He said he was allotted the contract by the Kiran Kumar Reddy government.
He alleged that the Centre did not give the required funds to the Polavaram project and construction of the Amaravati, the new AP capital.
Mr Sambasiva Rao said Mr Naidu had not recommended to Mr Chandrasekhar Rao to give contracts to AP TD leaders.
