Parents seek probe into food poisoning cases
ADILABAD: Parents of the students who fell sick after having dinner in a minority residential school staged a protest in front of the school building in Kagaznagar on Tuesday demanding that district officials take stern action against the school principal and warden for their negligence.
Most of the 50 students admitted to the hospital after they complained of stomach ache after eating dinner were discharged on Tuesday. Some parents took their children home.
Parents, leaders of student unions and representatives of political parties said the warden and principal had threatened the students with dire consequences if they questioned the poor quality of food that was served with worms.
The protesters stopped the additional collector Chahat Bajpai while she was leaving the hostel after inspection. She told them she would submit her report to senior officials.
