Conversion of Jayalalithaa's house into memorial legally wrong: MK Stalin
Chennai: DMK on Sunday asked the Tamil Nadu Government to follow the due process of law in converting former chief minister J. Jayalalithaa’s Poes Garden residence into a memorial for her.
Speaking to reporters on his return from the United Kingdom here, DMK Working President M. K. Stalin also criticised former chief minister O. Panneerselvam for agreeing to an inquiry commission into Jayalalithaa’s death, climbing down from his demand for a CBI inquiry.
Stalin had last week termed as an “eyewash” Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami’s announcement of a judicial inquiry into the death of the AIADMK leader. “It should be done legally, what is happening now is legally wrong. We should wait and see as to what further steps that will be taken over this,” the DMK leader said, adding that his party stood for a CBI probe into the matter and it had been continuously demanding it.
