FTAPCCI terms Andhra Pradesh budget growth-oriented
VIJAYAWADA: The Federation of Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (Fapcci) has welcomed the AP budget 2021-22 and hailed it as a growth-oriented budget. Its president C.V. Atchut Rao said the allocation of Rs 3,673.34 crore for industrial and infrastructure development would surely pave for industrial development and innovation process in tune with the best-in-class industrial policy and other sectoral policies.
Rao said that the government recognised the need for incentives to promote industries, and the allocation of Rs 1,000 crore would provide great relief, especially to MSMEs (micro, small and medium enterprises) in the state. He appealed to the government to consider a time-frame for disbursal of sanctioned incentives to industries as it will help them manage their cash flows and meet the commitments in running the units.
Especially, MSMEs could be saved from the hardships faced due to Covid-19. He called for sector-specific value chain and export capabilities to promote all types of industries in the state.
Rao appreciated the finance minister for focusing on health by allocating Rs 13,830 crore for the medical and health sector and also the specific allocation of Rs 1,000 crore to fight the Covid pandemic. He urged the government to lay more focus on the improvement of health infrastructure, especially at mandal level and in rural areas.
He lauded the incorporation of the concept of ‘Gender Budget,’ the first-of-its-kind in prioritising women's empowerment. He stated that the allocations of Rs 47,283.21 crore for women and Rs 16,748.47 crore in the annual budget for children would certainly lead to effective implementation of women and children-oriented schemes.
