BJP hits out at TRS government on graft
Hyderabad: BJP Uppal MLA N.V.S.S. Prabhakar on Sunday said it was shameful that Telangana was placed second worst in its fight against corruption in a recent report released by the Centre for Media Studies.
Addressing a press conference here, Mr Prabhakar demanded that the state government release a white paper on the progress of ACB cases filed against officials and staff in the past four years.
"This report shows that the TRS government is encouraging corruption. Hundreds of officials and staff were caught taking bribes red-handed in the past four years since the formation of the State. But no one knows the fate of those cases,” he said.
Mr Prabhakar said the government was not permitting the ACB to prosecute corrupt staff. The Chief Minister’s Office had kept hundreds of such corruption cases pending without giving approval to the ACB to prosecute corrupt staff.
