Bengaluru: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president Dr G. Parameshwar on Saturday said that the party's four-day strategy session will begin from Monday to discuss both intra-party and inter-party matters in detail.
Dr Parameshwar said, “We are holding discussions based on revenue divisions. In all four days, problems in four divisions will be discussed in detail to gear up to face polls next year.”
He asserted that it was natural for any party to conduct inter-party surveys to know its pluses and minuses ahead of polls. “We will surely carry out a survey to formalise its strategy in the run-up to the Assembly election. The survey will gauge public opinion on the government’s performance. It will also find out the reasons why some candidates lost the previous election," he said. The opinion of party workers too will matter before the party reaches any decision on the basis of the survey.
He said that the party has not received complaints over any irregularities in the ongoing Youth Congress polls. “If I receive any complaints, I will certainly initiate action against such cases impartially," he said.
Ridiculing the opposition BJP's allegations, Dr Parameshwar, who is also the home minister, said that that one incident of attack on a corporator on Friday cannot be termed as the collapse of law and order machinery in the state. “I have asked the police to act impartially as both aggrieved parties have filed complaints against each other that had taken place in the presence of Mayor Padmavathi. This is purely a politically motivated case and the law will take its course," he said.

Meanwhile Dr Parameshwar, who paid a surprise visit to West police station in Mandya, took the officers there to task for various discrepancies in the station such as not maintaining files properly and disposal of seized vehicles seized.
On the allegation of the BJP and JD(S) that the Congress government was responsible for IAS officer Anurag Tiwari’s death, he said, “There is nothing to hide. We do not know the reason for his death. UP Government has said that they would form a SIT. Let us wait for the report.”
