Thiruvananthapuram: When compared to the 2011 poll outcome, the LDF had gained in all districts. LDF made the maximum gain of 5 seats in Thrissur by winning 12 of the 13 constituencies in the district. During 2011, LDF could secure only 7 seats in the district.
UDF's seat position in the district came down to one from six. Despite RSP parting away, the LDF could improve its position by securing all the 11 seats, against 9 in 2011. In Kottayam, Idukki and Kasargod, LDF could not make an gain, but retained the number of seats it won in 2011 - two in Kottayam and three each in Idukki and Kasargod.
