Talasani faults Governor for speaking against KCR government

Governer was speaking like a political leader before the media by violating all the norms and conventions of the office, said Talasani

HYDERABAD: Animal husbandry minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav on Wednesday found fault with Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan for speaking to media repeatedly and making adverse remarks on the state government and Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao.

Speaking to media personnel here, Srinivas Yadav said that the Governor was speaking like a 'political leader' before the media frequently by violating all the norms and conventions of the office of the Governor. He termed her statements as 'irresponsible'.

He said the Chief Minister, ministers and MLAs were elected by the people and not nominated like a Governor. Yadav said that the Governor's reported comments before the media that she did not like to work with Chandrashekar Rao were not appropriate.

"Governors have certain limitations. But the Telangana Governor is crossing all limits by speaking to the media frequently and making comments like a political leader against the state government and the Chief Minister. She is speaking in favour of Opposition parties. It is wrong on the part of the Governor to function in this manner," he added.

Talasani said the Governor should realise that the role of Vice President and Governor was minimal in our constitutional framework and should act accordingly.
