VIJAYAWADA: AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu celebrated his 69th birthday on Saturday at his house in Undavalli. However, Mr Naidu received no wishes from TS Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, who had promised Mr Naidu a “return gift”.
Interestingly, Mr Rao’s son and TRS working president K.T. Rama Rao greeted Mr Naidu on Twitter. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, arch rival and YRSC president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and other leaders also greeted Mr Naidu.
Mr Modi wrote in a Twitter post: “Greetings to the Andhra Pradesh CM, @ncbn garu on his birthday. Praying for his long and healthy life/May he live a long, healthy life.” Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy wrote, “Warm birthday greetings to @ncbn garu.”
Mr Rama Rao wrote in his tweet: “Many returns of the day to hon’ble AP CM Sri @ncbn garu on his birthday. May you be blessed with a long, healthy, and peaceful life, and many more years in public service, sir.”
While netizens egearly awaited comments and wishes from Mr Chandrasekhar Rao, it was not to be.
Mr Naidu's son and TD leader N. Lokesh posted pictures of Mr Naidu's birthday cake with a message that read "Happy birthday to our hero", and those of the family sharing a piece of cake.
In his Twitter post, Mr Naidu wrote: "I'm very fortunate to have had the privilege to watch you become the visionary and the doer as the world knows you today while being a doting husband, father, and grandpa who continues to hop and run with Devansh like a 4-year-old. Here's to a more energetic and enthusiastic you in the coming years #HappyBirthdayNCBN"
Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan and many other leaders greeted Mr Naidu over the phone. A large number of Telugu Desam leaders participated in the birthday programme which was held in Undavalli and also at the TD state office at Guntur.
TD MP Rayapati Sambasiva Rao cut a cake on the occasion of Mr Naidu's birthday and celebrated with TD leaders and cadres. TD leaders in all district offices and Assembly constituencies of Andhra Pradesh celebrated Mr Naidu's birthday in a grand manner....
