Revanth slams Pocharam for looting natural resources

Hyderabad: TPCC chief A. Revanth Reddy on Monday accused Legislative Assembly Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy and his family of looting natural resources in the Banswada Assembly constituency.

Addressing a street-corner meeting at Ambedkar Crossroads in Banswada during his Haath Se Haath Jodo Padayatra, Revanth urged farmers to defeat the MLA in the next election.

“Pocharam should be buried deep in the netherworld. The farmers of this place are known for having the strength of bringing down anyone to their knees. You should shoulder the responsibility of bringing down KCR, who has closed the sugar factory,” he said.

Recalling Pocharam’s opposition to N. Chandrababu Naidu’s decision to offer a 51 per cent stake to private companies, Revanth questioned his silence on the closure of sugar factories. He promised to reopen then, provided the Congress wins.

Earlier in the day, addressing mediapersons, Revanth alleged that the state government was trying to cover up its wrongdoings, over a notice received from the SIT probing the TSPSC question paper leak, asking him to produce evidence of his claims against minister K.T. Rama Rao.

He questioned how the papers were leaked without the knowledge of the IT department and TSPSC chairman. “The computers were installed in all departments after permission from the IT department by Telangana State Technology Services (TSTS). K. Jagan Mohan Rao was appointed as TSTS chairman in 2021 by K.T. Rama Rao. (Accused) Rajasekhar Reddy was appointed through outsourcing, on the recommendation of KTR’s PA Tirupati,” he said.

As per the IT Act 2000 Rule 2, the government holds the responsibility for computer security audits, which should be done by a company certified by the Centre.

“The access to the question paper is provided only to the chairman, secretary and section officer. Without the knowledge of these three officials, how could Rajasekhar and Praveen be able to hack the papers? Hence the government should be held responsible. Why are secretary Anita Ramachandran and section officer Shankara Lakshmi not being questioned?” he asked.

Revanth held that there was no transparency in the investigation being conducted by the SIT. “Notices from SIT were anticipated. With clear intention of harassing us, these notices are being sent and we shall be responding to them. I shall be offering all the evidence to SIT. I would like to ask a direct question to an official of SIT A.R. Srinivas — When they have come to a conclusion that only two persons were accused, then what is the need for seeking evidence from me?” he asked.

Revanth further demanded that the SIT issue notice to K.T. Rama Rao, who claimed that only the two accused were responsible. “Notices should also be issued to Sabitha Indra Reddy and Srinivas Goud. If the official (AR Srinivas) fails to send notices to KTR, both of us shall be meeting in court,” he said.
