YS Jagan Mohan Reddy vows better rule than father

Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy also took a dig at the CM for his failure to supply power for 9 hours to agriculture and absence of jobs for youth.

Nellore/Ongole/Chittoor: YSRC chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy criticised Chief Minister N. Chandrababu for increase in crop loans from Rs 87,612 cr to Rs 1.30 cr during his rule.

Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy also took a dig at the CM for his failure to supply power for 9 hours to agriculture and absence of jobs for youth. He alleged that the TD was gearing up to buy each vote for Rs 3,000, advising his party cadres to go door to door and educate people against taking money. Jagan promised Rs 75,000 to self-help groups in four instalments and Rs 50,000 to farmers at the rate of `12,500 per annum, advising people not to fall for sops announced by Mr Naidu.

Stressing that he will be the next Chief Minister, he promised to increase pensions from Rs 2,000 to Rs 3,000 gradually and provide a better governance than his father and former Chief Minister Dr Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy.

Reminding that annual fees for engineering and other professional courses increased manifold and parents were forced to raise funds for the education of their children because of the erratic fee reimbursement scheme, he assured to take care of the burden.

Mr Jagan also focused on highlighting the unfulfilled promises of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu during his public meetings at Tangutur in Prakasam district, Kavali in Nellore district and Palamaneru in Chittoor district on Wednesday.

He alleged that the CM ignored 350 promises he made in the party manifesto during the elections in 2014. He said that the TD chief had totally failed to implement the promises he made for Prakasam district such as the industrial corridor at Donakonda, mining university at Chimakurthy, national investment and manufacturing zone, airport for Ongole, Velugonda project and Ramayapatnam port.

“I appeal to my sisters not to be lured by the `3,000 which will be given by Chandrababu Naidu, but use your discretion and elect a leader who will stand by his word and will be with you in the hour of crisis. He comes like a seasonal bird during the elections to announce sops and goes away, never to be seen before the next elections. I have seen the plight of women who became defaulters due to cheating by Chandrababu Naidu. The economic and social structure of every family has been hit by the wrong policies of the TD government. All loans of the women’s groups will be waived in four steps, he said.
