Jana Sena leaves Vijayawada Lok Sabha seat for CPI

CPI national general secretary Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy released the list of three party candidates on Wednesday.

Vijayawada: The Jana Sena will not field its candidate for the Vijayawada Lok Sabha seat, but has left it for its alliance partner the CPI.

CPI national general secretary Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy released the list of three party candidates on Wednesday. Accordingly, Chalasani Ajay Kumar will be contesting for the LS seat. CPI state secretary K. Ramakrishna said that the party will be contesting for six Assembly and three LS seats. He said that JS earlier allotted Nuzvid Assembly seat to the CPI but now changed it with the Vijayawada LS seat. G. Eswaraiah will contest for Kadapa LS seat and D. Jagadish for the Anantapur seat on CPI ticket.

Mr Ramakrishna said that the CPI will contest for the Palakonda, S Kota, Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada West, Mangalagiri, Kanigiri and Dhone Assembly seats.
