Don’t influence probe: Viveka’s kin

Dr Sunitha said that after the murder of her father, TV and print media coverage saddened the family.

Kadapa: The late Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy’s daughter Dr Sunitha, addressed a press conference at Pulivendula on Wednesday morning where she appealed to the media not to influence the SIT investigation into her father’s death. “We are looking for a fair and impartial report from the investigating team,” she said.

Y.S. Vivekanada Reddy, former MP and uncle of Opposition leader Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy was murdered on March 15 in Pulivendula while he was alone at home. She said her father was a great man, a great soul.

“He loved Pulivendula and the people living there, the gardens in the area. He loved us a lot. Unfortunately, my mother’s health has not been good and she was staying with my family and father was living alone in Pulivendula. Close associates were taking care of him,” she said.

Dr Sunitha said that after the murder of her father, TV and print media coverage saddened the family.

Her father had led a life of dignity but he was killed in the most gruesome way. She said there is some loose talk which degrades the dignity of her father and she was afraid this might influence the investigation.

“The special investigating team that has been formed is working assiduously,” she said, and appealed for the investigation to be completed before comments were passed.

“My father’s dream was to see his nephew Jagan become Chief Minister. But there was so much negative news published in the media about differences in the family. It was absolutely trash. My sincere request to all of you here, all people watching this, including politicians, please show him the respect he deserved when he was alive,” she said.

She said people were being judgmental and claiming that there were family problems. “Does anybody knows that? We are more than 700 members in our family with various castes, regions and countries. In any family there are differences of opinions. We learn to live together in spite of differences, we respect each other,” Dr Sunitha said.
