Make use of Panchayat Raj Act, urges KT Rama Rao
Sircilla: Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao has introduced the new Panchayat Raj Act in the state after much thought and all must have a thorough knowledge about it, said information technology minister and Sircilla legislator, K.T. Rama Rao at the Panchayat Raj Sammelanam held at Padmanayaka function hall in Rajanna Sircilla district on Thursday.
The TRS government was developing the state with proper planning.
Villages have been made clean and green through Palle Pragathi initiative.
After the formation of Telangana, several districts, mandals and panchayats were re-organised for good governance. Sircilla district will have a new integrated collectorate building. The tribal people’s dream of having separate panchayats for the Thandas was fulfilled by the TRS government, he added. Mr Rao appealed to the people’s representatives to study the new Panchayat Raj Act.
Around 12,751 nurseries were established in village panchayats for growing saplings to be planted under the haritha haram programme. The villages must have a Vykuntadham (Burial ground) and dumping yard. The village sarpanchs must make the villages model ones, he said.
Several welfare schemes were introduced by the government for all sections of people, he added.
From this month, Pattana Pragathi initiative will be launched to transform the towns and cities in the state, he said. Zilla Parishad chairperson Nyalakonda Aruna, MLAs Sunkari Ravi Shankar and Rasamayi Balakishan, MLC Naradasu Laxman Rao and TESCOB chairman Konduri Ravinder Rao were among those present.
