After Assembly, Lok Sabha polls second test for KT Rama Rao
Hyderabad: It looks like the ‘KTR era’ has begun in the TRS, as TRS working president K.T. Rama Rao has been given total responsibility for the party in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Those who are not able to meet the Chief Minister are meeting Mr Rama Rao. With the target being set at winning 16 of the 17 Lok Sabha seats in the state, it will be a testing time for Mr Rama Rao.
Mr Rama Rao proved his mettle by orchestrating the spectacular win by the TRS in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections. His leadership qualities were obvious once again in the recent Assembly elections, where he not only campaigned hard but also convinced party leaders who did not get tickets to accept the situation.
His reward was being appointed TRS working president and second-in-command in the party the day after Mr Chandrasekhar Rao took oath for the second time. There is speculation that after the Lok Sabha elections, Mr Rama Rao may be made Chief Minister and that his appointment as working president will prepare him for this.He will play an important role in selecting candidates for the Lok Sabha polls.
