Hyderabad: The BJP on Saturday accused municipal administration and urban development (MA&UD) minister K.T. Rama Rao of utter negligence when it came to safety of the city, and deliberately ignoring damage from floods, fire and building collapses in and around Hyderabad.
State BJP vice-president N.V.S.S. Prabhakar said that illegal constructions were rampant in GHMC limits.
"Despite the High Court questioning the need to introduce building regularization schemes (BRS) again and again, Rama Rao does not care. Not once has he visited any place in the city that suffered from floods or fires," Prabhakar said while speaking to the media in the backdrop of the inferno on Minister's road in Secunderabad two days ago.
Even master plans in towns like Kamareddy and Jagtial were designed to allow Rama and Bharat Rashtra Samithi leaders to grab land.
