Pocharam urges MLAS to maintain house's dignity
Hyderabad: Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy on Sunday appealed to legislators to maintain the dignity of the House and not make derogatory remarks against each other. He cautioned that he would take action against any legislator who violates the procedures of the Asembly in accordance with the rules.
Speaking to mediapersons, Mr Srinivas Reddy thanked the legislators for supporting him in conducting the first session of Assembly smoothly, He said that the entire country was looking to Telangana state for its innovative schemes in agriculture and he would strive to place the state as a role model in the manner of conducting the proceedings of the Assembly.
Mr Srinivas Reddy made it clear that there was no rule regarding the time limit for the number of business days of the House. The House would be run as per the decisions on the schedule taken in the business advisory committee meeting, and as per the desire of the members.
He asked the media not to glorify or mock new members for their mistakes. He said the website of the Assembly would be revamped soon. The Speaker said the House had to function as per the people’s expectations and aspirations.
