Congress questions KCR's claims on irrigation

The CM should appoint an expert committee to spend the funds.

Hyderabad: Leader of Opposition Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao had claimed that the government had spent about Rs 1 lakh crore on irrigation projects. “Why didn’t he give water to one acre of land at least?” Mr Bhatti asked.

“I have never seen any government spending Rs 2.25 lakh crore on irrigation projects. There should be a debate on these funds. The CM should appoint an expert committee to spend the funds. If not, we will visit all the projects with technical teams,” Mr Bhatti told mediapersons at the Assembly.

Mr Bhatti said, “Soon after the panchayat elections, the CLP will meet again and decide on the committees. I have taken the blessings of K. Jana Reddy.”
