Key BRS leaders start questioning party leadership

Warangal: Key BRS leaders in erstwhile Warangal district, who had accepted every decision of the party leadership before the assembly elections, are now speaking out openly against it.

Addressing a meeting of party workers from Raghunathpally and Lingala Ghanpuram mandals at the BRS office in Yeshwanthpur of Station Ghanpur constituency, newly elected BRS MLA Kadiyam Srihari said had the party leadership changed 25 to 30 sitting MLAs, the party would have definitely returned to power in the assembly elections.

The refrain of BRS leaders has been that instead of duly recognising party leaders and key workers, the party leadership allotted posts to leaders who joined BRS from other parties.

Recently, senior BRS leader and MLC Thakkallapally Ravinder Rao charged that the party leadership allotted MLC tickets to “broker batch leaders” due to which the party faced a massive debacle in assembly elections.

Some other leaders have been saying that the party leadership never tried to know what is going on at the ground level. Though BRS is known for achieving the separate statehood for Telangana, it never gave importance to the true activists and allotted posts to those who joined BRS from other parties.

They say people developed considerable negativity towards BRS party leadership because of such actions. Further, leaders from other parties started forming new groups and undermined the efforts of grass-root workers.

More so, many MLAs were busy with their own illegal activities, which turned the people away from BRS, MLC Ravinder Rao added.
