VIJAYAWADA: Telugu Desam MLC Dokka Manikyavaraprasada Rao refuted allegations of the BJP against minister for IT and pachayat raj, N. Lokesh, as baseless. Addressing a press meet, he said that the Union government had given awards to Mr Lokesh and that these awards showed his dedication and honesty. MLA G.V. Aanjaneyulu and several other TD leaders also demanded that Mr Narasimha stop levelling false allegations against Mr Lokesh.

Addressing a press meet at the state TD office in Guntur on Friday, Mr Rao alleged that BJP leaders, unable the digest the development of the state despite the absence of funds from the BJP led Union government, were spitting poison on it. He claimed that companies, in large numbers, came to AP due to the efforts of Mr Lokesh who had visited many foreign countries, inviting companies and investments. He further claimed that Andhra youth were getting jobs due to the starting of new companies and alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had promised to provide one crore jobs but had totally failed to provide employment and demanded a white paper by the BJP government on the one crore job promise.

Mr Rao stated that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and his Cabinet, along with officials, camped in the cyclone-hit areas but BJP leaders were indulging in politics by levelling baseless charges against the TD government and provoking the cyclone victims. He said that Mr Naidu had written a letter to the BJP government seeking Rs 1,200 crore aid for cyclone victims but sadly, there was no response till date from the Central government. He alleged that Union Home Minister, Rajnath Singh, had come to AP for a party programme but did not visit cyclone-hit areas which showed BJP politics.
