KCR’s warning to Centre a mere drama: Laxman

The BJP leader told reporters that states were not restricted from implementing reservations provided they were based on population

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao’s ‘warning’ to the Centre on his decision to implement 10 per cent ST reservations in Telangana was a “mere drama,” BJP OBC Morcha chairman Dr K. Laxman said.

He told reporters on Monday that states were not restricted from implementing
reservations provided they were based on population. Dr Laxman said the Chief Minister was desperately attempting to drag the Centre into the issue, though it Centre had no role to play.

“Rao could have issued a GO increasing ST reservations any time in the past eight years. He is doing it now because he has realised that he is losing support among people and now is trying to paint the Centre as the villain,” he said.
