Rahul is my leader: Jagga to rumour-mongers

HYDERABAD: “My political journey is with the Congress and Rahul Gandhi is my leader. Those who are speculating about me should desist from this. This is my final warning and will not desist from taking action against them,” said TPCC working president T. Jagga Reddy.

Pooh-poohing reports being circulated on social media and some channels he said, “Is it wrong to meet the CM or other ministers as an MLA to get things done in my constituency? This has been especially happening for the past one-and-a-half years now and looks like the Telugu Desam culture has made inroads into our party.”

Speculations have been rife for some time now about Jagga Reddy’s imminent shift to the BRS. However, leaders of the BRS in Sangareddy are reported to have opposed the move to co-opt him. The briefing by him will put an end to the conjectures for now. His differences with the TPCC president Revanth Reddy have been in the open and are public knowledge.

Asked why he is not attending the extended TPCC meeting taking place in Gandhi Bhavan, he said, “I had attended the PAC (political affairs committee) meeting held recently.

The meeting happening now is only taking the same direction forward. I have been participating in all meetings whenever needed. We have 50 leaders in our party who will win the polls for sure if given proper support. In the remaining 30 seats where we might stand second now, we need to put in more effort.”

I have great admiration for Rahul and met him away from the glare of the media for twenty minutes in Delhi. You did not get wind of it, he said.

I met the CM recently to seek justice for the auto drivers who have been suffering at Yadagirigutta. They have been unable to eke out a living owing to restrictions placed on them in the temple premises. I gave a representation letter to the CM, he added.
