V. Hanumantha Rao said the Congress should take up an agitation against the exploration for uranium in the Nallamala forests.

Hyderabad: Former MP and AICC secretary V. Hanumantha Rao said the Congress should take up an agitation against the exploration for uranium in the Nallamala forests.

Speaking to mediapersons on Monday, Mr Rao asked TPCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy to mobilise the people against the exploration of uranium and prepare an action plan to prevent mining.

He asked the TPCC Chief to hold a meeting with senior leaders to discuss the issue. Mr Rao said the Congress was confined to holding press conferences on every issue and therefore Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao was taking it easy.
