Hyderabad: Accusing the TRS and BJP of enacting a “fake drama of political rivalry” to mislead the people and damage the Congress, TPCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy challenged BJP working president J.P. Nadda to get the Centre to order a CBI probe against Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao if the BJP was serious against exposing corruption in the TRS government.
In a live interaction with more than 30,000 party workers on social media on Monday, Mr Reddy expressed wonder at the statement of Mr Nadda who accused Mr Rao of indulging in corruption.
He said the Congress had been exposing the corrupt practices and mass irregularities of the TRS government for the last five years but neither Prime Minister Narendra Modi or the Centre took note of the allegations. He said that Mr Modi and many Union ministers openly praised Mr Rao, who had always behaved like a true “Modi bhakt” and never criticised the BJP government at the Centre.
He asked Mr Nadda to explain the reasons behind the sudden change in the BJP’s policy towards the TRS. He alleged that the BJP and the TRS which are secret allies in Delhi are enacting a drama of rivalry in the state.
He alleged that the Modi government had shielded Mr Rao, facilitating him to indulge in corruption and irregularities. The TPCC chief said that unlike the BJP and the TRS, the Congress never cheats the people with double talk and dual standards. “We still stand on our allegations on the TRS government,” he said.
Mr Reddy said the BJP leaders were daydreaming of coming to power in Telangana state after the party won four Lok Sabha seats. The BJP would never gain strength in Telangana state as the Modi government did nothing for the state in the last five years. He said that the Congress was only the alternative to the TRS and it would bounce back to power in 2023....
