Andhra Pradesh to develop several tourism projects soon
Vijayawada: The State government is coming up with several new tourism projects with the financial support of both the Centre and state government to promote tourism in a big way in the state.
Minister for tourism, culture and youth services Avanthi Srinivasa Rao reviewed several existing and upcoming tourism projects and directed the officials to prepare detailed project reports for several projects either with the financial support of both the Centre and state or under public-private-partnership mode.
Accordingly, the upcoming projects include: development of tourism amenities at Ramateertham and also construction of resorts at Thatipudi reservoir in Vizianagaram district, Integrated tourism projects and resorts to be developed at Madhura-wada and Rushikonda in Visakhapatnam. A budget hotel would be built at AP tourism office in Rajahmundry in East Godavari. A convention hall would be constructed at a tourism site along the national highway at Eluru in West Godavari. An integrated tourism project would be developed at Nagulavaram of Macherala in Guntur district, a tourism project at Vedagiri and water sports and resorts to be developed at Kandaleru in Nellore district.
Other projects include: A tourism hotel to be built at Kanipakam and an eco-tourism project to be developed at Kailasanatha hill in Chittoor district. An eco-tourism project to be developed at Brahmamgari Mutt and an integrated tourism project to be constructed at Gandikota in Kadapa district, An adventure park to be developed at Valmiki Caves and tourism amenities to be established at Sivalayam of Devaragatta in Kurnool district.
The minister directed the officials to expedite efforts to take up all the proposed tourist projects.
Some tourism projects ready for inauguration include: a container resort at Erra Matti Dibbalu in Visakahapatnam, a drive-in restaurant at Haritha Resorts at Anantagiri, a dormitory and wooden cottages at Samalkot, an interpretation centre at Adapur in Kadapa district, a dormitory and a restaurant at Shaik Sha Vali Dargah at Ellarthi in Kurnool and a dormitory and two restaurants at Anantapur and Madakasira in Anatapur district.
Foundation stones will be laid for tourism projects coming up at Perupalem in West Godavari and also at Kunchanapalli of Tadepalligudem in West Godavari.
